Interests that Shape Who I Am

Cooking & Community

From a young age, I found joy in the kitchen. Training as a junior chef under a Michelin-starred mentor showed me that cooking is more than following recipes — it is about precision, creativity, and nourishment. That same idea became the seed of BiYemek.org, where technology and food intersect to provide thousands of meals for those in need. My community service with the AIP Foundation further reinforced this connection: whether serving through “Acts of Kindness” or building a donation platform, I discovered that cooking and coding share a purpose — to bring people together and to serve others. For me, the kitchen is not separate; it is another laboratory where I experiment, create, learn, and give back.

Conservation & Curiosity

Alongside my interest in technology and food, I have quietly dedicated years to caring for near-extinct and delicate animals such as chinchillas and axolotls. These experiences have taught me patience, responsibility, and respect for ecosystems. Conservation is not only about protecting animals — it is about safeguarding balance for the future. This belief connects directly with my scheduled 2026 research opportunity at UCLA with Professor Aydoğan Özcan, where artificial intelligence and imaging can help reimagine solutions in biology and health. Just as I nurture fragile species at home, I hope to contribute to global efforts where science, empathy, and innovation converge.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
